Our World
Alara Yalaza
We live in a complex world and everyone views it differently; yet one thing is clear: we live in a world in which everything is overruled by injustice, inequality, discrimination, and manipulation. There is a lot of information which corrupts our senses. This is why it is critical to question the narratives that are moulding our understanding of life. The prejudices we hold against people and the discrimination we engage in cloaks the reality behind the fixed cruelties which are imposed by societal norms. I believe that is crucial for us to see beneath the surface of the so-called reality and we have to challenge what is considered as “normal”. When we turn a blind eye to the differences around us we inevitably eternalise manipulation and obscurity. Now it is the time to break free from the cycle by realising the different point of views of life. Life is composed of many layers, each painted with a variety of colours, colours which are born from our individuality. Unfortunately, the media, which should be shaping our perceptions positively, often falls short. Instead of fostering a society that values creativity born from equality, it sometimes leads people toward ignorance and numbness. Life has many complex components such as war, love, and many more which we encounter from the adventures we seek. The goal we strive for should be inspired by a desire for balanced and harmonious coexistence, not inequality and hierarchy. However, issues like patriarchy and systemic negligence cast shadows on the path to genuine equality. It is time to fight the shackles of conformity and challenge the established norms. Embracing diverse perspectives can be a catalyst for change, igniting creativity that shines a light on societal conventions. Building a more equitable world demands dismantling the foundations of discrimination, paving the way for a future guided by love rather than tainted by hatred.
Together, we must actively contribute to a society that rejects manipulation and values truth. Recognizing our differences and confronting ingrained prejudices can pave the way for a world where every individual is acknowledged, heard, and appreciated. Only then we can genuinely claim to be living life authentically – a journey marked by compassion, understanding, and a shared sense of humanity.
